EastEnders spoilers follow for Monday’s episode (19 January), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has aired the return of Kat Moon in today’s episode – and she comes back to Walford with some disappointing news. Kat has been in Greece for the last couple of weeks, attempting to track down Chrissie Watts, who she thinks killed Anthony Trueman.

She headed abroad on a quest for answers to help get her innocent daughter Zoe out of prison for Anthony’s murder. But viewers now know that it was actually Jasmine who killed her biological dad on Christmas Day, desperately trying to stop Anthony attacking Zoe.

Jasmine filmed the entire grisly incident on her phone, but she is keeping the video footage secret – and continued to hide it from Alfie, as she settled into living in The Vic.

Alfie was delighted to see his wife Kat when she returned home, but she soon confessed that her trip was a complete waste of time as she didn’t manage to find Chrissie.

She explained that Chrissie’s former cellmate Dor’s intel was dodgy, as Chrissie only went to Greece for a few days before returning to the UK, though Sam reasoned that she was easier to find in London.

When Kat found out that Zoe was being visited by Ritchie this morning, she arranged to see her daughter in prison later that day and asked Jasmine to join her.

Jasmine was conflicted, but after speaking to Oscar, she decided to go with Kat to the prison. Kat was emotional to finally reunite with Zoe, but it was soon revealed that she had been advised by Ritchie to plead guilty to manslaughter in the hope of getting a reduced sentence.

Kat struggled to accept this and declared that they needed to tell the police about Chrissie to help Zoe. Jasmine said she was reluctant to turn against Chrissie, stressing that she is dangerous.

Zoe didn’t want Jasmine to get in trouble with the police as well, but Jasmine later told thrilled Kat that she had decided to come forward about Chrissie after all.

Kat told Alfie that Jasmine’s decision could be the first step towards getting Zoe home. Meanwhile, Jasmine told Oscar that she was thinking of leaving Walford – and suggested that he should come with her.
