Coronation Street spoilers follow from Tuesday’s episode (24 February), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Coronation Street has revealed the truth over the malicious damage caused to Bernie Winter-Alahan’s wedding photo. In an unexpected twist, it turns out that creepy Mal Roper wasn’t the culprit.

Bernie was left terrified this week as she realised that someone had broken into the Alahan house and spitefully cut her face out of her wedding picture. The prime suspect was Mal, who has been harassing Bernie since they met at the Chariot Square Hotel last month.

In tonight’s episode, Bernie confronts Mal with the defaced wedding photo and accuses him of being responsible. Mal denies it, but he still isn’t showing any genuine remorse for scaring Bernie with his sinister behaviour.

Later, the truth is revealed to viewers as Weatherfield newcomer Jodie Ramsey delves into the box of trinkets that she has hidden away in the cupboard at the Platt house.

Shona’s scheming sister pulls the cut-out photo of Bernie’s face from her pocket and places it into the box.

Solving another mystery, the box also contains Brian Packham’s missing book following The Kabin’s recent break-in.

The double revelations shine a new light on Jodie’s mindset and exactly what she’s capable of. Bernie and Brian have both been involved in petty spats involving Jodie recently – and we now know that they’ve prompted an extreme reaction from her!

Last week, Bernie rebuked Jodie for messing up Brian’s order at the café. Jodie secretly retaliated by giving Mal false hope about his chances with Bernie.

Brian also separately annoyed Jodie when he fired Lily Platt from her paper round for throwing away a stack of newspapers on her first shift.

It’s clear that Jodie isn’t to be messed with, but how far will she go when she has a target in her sights? Could this link to her first scenes in soap crossover Corriedale, where Emmerdale‘s Graham Foster was holding her captive in the back of a van?

“We’ll find out exactly why she was in that van. We’ll find out what her link to Graham is,” Coronation Street’s producer Kate Brooks promised last month.

“From my time when I worked at Emmerdale, Graham was a character with a murky past who was capable of many things. For Jodie to be embroiled with somebody of that ilk sheds a light on what kind of character she is and what to expect.”

“We will absolutely reveal what went on between them and what Graham’s role was in it all,” Brooks added. “Keep a lookout for it, because it’s a story that goes on to be really big as we get into spring and summer. There’s a lot of drama for the Platts coming up!”

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
