Isaac Dingle will have some heartbreaking fears on Emmerdale after he was told that his father, Cain, had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. With Kyle Winchester being told at the same time, how will the young boys fare?
Earlier this year, Cain was told by hospital staff that he had an aggressive form of prostate cancer, though it was treatable. Initially, only granddaughter Sarah Sugden knew of his health issues, though she urged him to share it with the rest of the Dingles.

During Monday’s episode of the ITV soap, Cain told his wife Moira about the devastating news, and followed it up by informing the rest of the family – including Isaac and Kyle – in today’s instalment.
Isaac and Kyle were noticeably emotional, and this arc will continue in next week’s scenes as Isaac continues to fear that the worst-case scenario will soon be his reality. Despite Cain having a good chance of recovery, Isaac is unshakeable in his belief.
Following Cain’s emotional conversation with Moira on Monday, several stars from Emmerdale took part in a video to raise awareness for cancer, with the clip being shared on the soap’s social media channels.
“Cain’s prostate cancer journey has resonated deeply with viewers across the UK, and it has inspired thousands more men to complete our 30-second risk checker and start lifesaving conversations about the disease,” said Prostate Cancer UK’s Chiara De Biase.
“By making this video, the brilliant Emmerdale cast are building on that impact and helping us reach the men who are most at risk of prostate cancer, ensuring more men are diagnosed in time for a cure.

“We’re grateful to the whole Emmerdale team for their continued support, and we look forward to seeing how future episodes raise more awareness of the most common cancer in the UK.”
While Cain now has the support of his family, he got a shock at the end of today’s episode, with nemesis Joe Tate revealing that Moira had sold her stake in Butler’s Farm to Kim. Cain was devastated, but does he have a plan up his sleeve?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
