Three others opened in Exmouth, Hazel Grove, and Whitehaven, plus a new international location in Martigny, Switzerland.
The gyms opened on September 26.
Rebecca Passmore, group chief operating officer at PureGym Group, said: “Opening five gyms in a single day is a remarkable moment for PureGym and reflects sustained demand for our offering – to provide a first-class fitness experience at a value gym price.
“For on average less than £1 a day members can access tens of thousands of pounds of fitness equipment and work out whatever time of day it suits them.
“In an era where people are not only placing greater importance on their health and wellbeing, but are also increasingly focused on value for money, this combination resonates well.”
The Bury gym, like the others, offers 24/7 access, state-of-the-art equipment, a variety of fitness classes included in the membership, and certified personal trainers.
PureGym has opened 34 new gyms in the UK so far this year and plans to reach 55 to 60 by the end of 2025, averaging more than one new opening per week.

Ms Passmore said: “Our ambition has always been to make affordable fitness as accessible as possible, and these five new sites show how we are delivering on that.
“We remain on track to open more than 60 gyms globally in 2025 and believe there is still plenty of opportunity to accelerate our expansion in the years ahead.”
Internationally, the company continues to expand, especially in Switzerland, where it plans up to 15 new openings over the next 15 months.
