On and off the Lux stage, Rosalía has embraced the art of ballet, training with Prima ballerinas to perform on pointe, working with Jonathan Anderson on custom organza-feathered costumes, and stepping out in edgy dancer fits composed of latex tops, tutu skirts, and studded ballerina flats. But her latest street-style moment put a glamorous spin on the not-so-glamorous side of dance: lugging around gear.

Stepping out in New York City, the artist was seen wearing a stretchy little black dress and carrying an ultra-capacious duffel from independent label Dana Toder. The piece, which stretched over two feet long, was crafted from soft but sturdy leather, with a slouchy body sandwiched between structural top handles and metal feet.

It was made custom, in collaboration with London-based filmmaker Lili Conzen, for her forthcoming project, Krahe. The faded, moody print seen all over the bag was designed from both film stills and Toder’s own personal photographs. “I’ve been developing this piece over the past months,” the designer shared on Instagram. “It’s one of the most exciting projects I’ve worked on.”

When a bag makes this much of a statement, it’s easy to let it do all the talking. But here, Rosalía and stylist duo Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo paired the massive duffel with equally exciting heels: avant-garde pointe shoes pulled from Japanese designer Junko Shimada’s Spring/Summer 2009 collection, I Feel Love. Despite being some 17 years old, the heels looked made for the Grammy-winning artist, merging a traditional pointe shoe with an off-kilter clear wedge heel and a black platform.
