Aged care workers warn of worsening mental health crisis

A senior manager working in Australia’s fractured aged care sector has spoken out about the ongoing problems still plaguing the industry.

The mental health crisis impacting older Australian’s is worsening, and with no mandate to come out of the royal commission in relation to mental health, staff feel they’ve been left to implement their own strategies.

Melbourne researchers have now designed a world-first guide for all workers in aged care to help them better manage the mental health of residents.
