Coronation Street spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (3 November), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.

Coronation Street airs another dark threat from one of the show’s new family members tonight, as the Driscoll arrivals continue to make their presence felt in Weatherfield. No-nonsense Maggie Driscoll shows that she’s not to be messed with, as she bitterly blames Eva Price for the mysterious disappearance of her grandson Will.

The Street’s newest family aren’t complete just yet, as actor Lucas Hodgson-Wale still hasn’t made his first appearance as Ben Driscoll’s youngest son Will. Although Will is due to arrive at The Rovers today, there’s an unsettling turn of events that leaves everyone fearful.

Eldest son Ollie is asked to pick his brother up from the train station, but he arrives back with the news that Will was nowhere to be seen, and he’s not answering his phone.

As Ben and Eva both panic, outspoken Maggie reckons that she knows exactly who’s to blame. She reminds the family that Will didn’t want to move from Hull in the first place, which could explain his strange no-show.

It’s clear that the family are getting nowhere by bickering among themselves, so Ben makes plans to rush off to Hull in the hope of finding his missing son.

When everyone else resorts to going through Will’s things for clues, they find a note which seems to suggest that he’s in love with a mystery girl. Complete with two kisses, the message reads: “Thanks for last night. You understand me so well.”

There are no immediate answers beyond that, but Maggie continues to blame Eva, since Ben only initiated their divisive move to Weatherfield to please her.

Maggie warns: “If anything’s happened to that boy, you’ll regret the day you came here – and I’ll make sure of it.”

Last month, Catherine Tyldesley – who plays Eva – spoke about how the dynamic between her character and Maggie will change in the coming weeks and months. And it doesn’t sound good for Eva…

“Early doors, I wouldn’t say that Eva is scared of Maggie, she’s more irritated by her,” Catherine explained.

“But as time goes on, Eva does start to see this side to Maggie that’s like: ‘Wow, okay, I’ve got your number’. I think that element develops where she goes: ‘Yeah, I am a little bit scared of her now and intimidated’.”

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
