Quentin Tarantino’s two-part “masterpiece” Kill Bill is getting an epic new release. Featuring some unseen footage, the upcoming film will see the director combine both volumes of his legendary duology into one epic, and it will be getting a cinema release to boot!

Titled Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, the film will unite Volume 1 and Volume 2 into a single, unrated epic to be “presented exactly as the director intended”.

As well as this, the new release will feature some brand new scenes, with a new, never-before-seen 7½-minute anime sequence.

What to Read Next

Speaking to Deadline about the new release, the writer-director said: “I wrote and directed it as one movie — and I’m so glad to give the fans the chance to see it as one movie.

“The best way to see Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is at a movie theatre in Glorious 70mm or 35mm. Blood and guts on a big screen in all its glory!”

Released in 2003 and 2004, the films follow Uma Thurman as The Bride, a woman who is left for dead when her former boss and lover Bill (David Carradine) ambushes her during her wedding rehearsal, shooting her in the head and stealing her unborn child.

Slated for release in cinemas on 5 December, The Whole Bloody Affair will be presented with a classic intermission.

Joining Thurman and Carradine in the stellar cast are stars including Vivica A Fox, Michael Madsen, Lucy Liu and Daryl Hannah.

While Tarantino himself might think of his 2009 film Inglourious Basterds as his greatest, Collider called Kill Bill his “masterpiece”, describing it as “Quentin Tarantino’s best film”.

In an article listing ten reasons why Kill Bill is the peak of the director’s filmography, they said: “It uses those four hours to tell a fantastic, stylish, fast-paced, entertaining, violent and emotional epic about a woman seeking revenge against her former mentor/partner.”

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is released in cinemas on 5 December.
