Less than 24 hours after she was elected camp leader, I’m a Celebrity’s Shona McGarty fell on her sword when contraband butter was found in the food trunk.
Shona insisted “I’m not responsible for it, but I used it” and begged campmates “Please don’t hate me.” But after departed Lioness Alex Scott, 41, was rumbled on camera for her illicit salt and pepper stash and Shona admitted hiding stolen air freshener in the camp toilet, an amnesty box was put into the jungle last week – and Shona kept the butter secret.
Ant and Dec were quick to share their disapproval too, alluding to Lisa saying she’d won extra stars in her mind during the trial, saying: “This wasn’t imaginary butter. This was actual butter and with actual butter comes actual consequences.”
Shona stepped down as leader – it was that or lose two stars won in today’s trial – but once Ruby was elected to replace her, an uprising began almost instantly.
Ruby didn’t help her cause as glorious leader when she the remaining 11 campmates that “Things are about to change!” and there would be “no more Mrs Nice Guy!” She demanded Shona become her footstool, Aitch her entertainer and Ginge her dancer.

Out of Ruby’s earshot, Jack began plotting with Aitch and Ginge, declaring “Ruby as leader, pure insanity. The craziest dictatorship I think the world will ever know.”
Around the campfire, Ginge suggested the mutinous trio should be “making a stand versus them,” and Jack agreed, saying “Viva la revolution!”
Smuggling and now a Lord of the Flies-style uprising… this year’s jungle is chaos and we’re so here for it. There was even a show trial, the perfect dictator’s justice.

Whoever bought the butter in – and let’s be honest, it’s unlikely to be the boys – Alex was tried and found guilty in absentia. A remorseful Shona told the Bush Telegraph that she had no idea where it came from, but when she saw it, “my eyes lit up and I used it”. By then it was too late. Ruby was on the throne, and the talk of jungle rebellion threatened celeb-on-celeb conflict on an epic scale.
