Coronation Street star Tanisha Gorey has explained why she doesn’t want her character, Asha Alahan, to reunite with Nina Lucas.
Asha and Nina formed a romantic relationship back in 2021, but their love-affair came to an end a couple of years later when Nina kissed her girlfriend’s twin brother, Aadi.

The pair have managed to maintain a strong friendship since their split, but it seems like the couple won’t ever be getting back together.
Speaking exclusively to us at Inside Soap, Tanisha explained why she doesn’t want to see the fan-favourite pairing give things another go in the future.

“I loved how different Asha and Nina were, but they had this love for each other,” said the actor. “I’ll always say from a Tanisha perspective, that as Nina cheated on her with Aadi, I don’t want them to get back together out of principle.
“The trust is gone. But I do love them as friends, and we’ll see Nina be there for Asha in the future.”
Asha has had a tough time lately in her role as a student paramedic. In harrowing scenes last month, she was assaulted by a patient during a particularly difficult shift.

She has been deeply affected by this experience and even suffered a panic attack shortly after, but she has mostly kept her ordeal to herself so far.
To make matters worse, she doesn’t have her brother by her side for support – with Aadi having recently moved to India to make a fresh start in emotional scenes.

“It’s really sad because they’re not just siblings, they’re twins,” Tanisha explained to us. “It’s always been the two of them causing drama together.
“Asha is definitely going to struggle with not having his company or the thought, ‘he’ll be at home’, or ‘he’ll be at work’. He’s halfway across the world. But it was nice that before he left, we saw the love that they have for each other.”
