Jean Slater is set to make her EastEnders return ahead of an eagerly anticipated new storyline. In January, the fan-favourite character left the Square to visit Lynne Slater after her mental health began to spiral.
Following Anthony’s death at the two had an explosive row, Jean began to investigate the crime on her own. As a result, Jean began experiencing manic episodes, accusing Jasmine of killing Anthony and having evil inside of her, and while no one believed her, viewers now know she is absolutely right in her deduction.
With Zoe’s son and Jasmine’s twin brother Josh set to arrive in Walford next week, Jean is set to be back in Walford in time for the next twists in this storyline.

As she returns to the Square, it’s clear that there is still friction between her and Zoe over Jasmine.
But after hearing Zoe on an emotional call with Kat, and with some encouragement from Alfie, Jean decides to offer an olive branch to Zoe.
They put their differences aside, but with Zoe’s estranged son making his way to the soap, who knows how long bliss will last for the Slater family.

Josh is set to arrive in EastEnders, reluctant to discuss his biological mum and meet the Slater side of his family.

“All of them are totally blindsided, particularly Denise and Kim, who weren’t expecting to meet Sandra in the first place. Knowing the Fox sisters, they’ll want to welcome Josh with open arms into the Trueman family. But let’s just say that it doesn’t go as smoothly as they hope…”
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
