For Bernie, Dev’s arrest is a nightmare come true as she fears there’s only one way to guarantee his freedom – expose her son Kit Green as the one who committed the crime. But as Kit tries to convince Bernie that Dev won’t go down, Mal offers her a sickening lifeline…
“Prepare yourselves for how truly vile Mal really is,” our Corrie source warns. “He knows that Bernie is desperate to prove Dev’s innocence, and that he holds all the cards. Mal offers Bernie the chance to clear Dev’s name, but it involves her returning to the Chariot Square hotel to recreate their night together…”

Mal’s latest move comes just days after Bernie and Dev arrive home from a much-needed holiday together, only to discover that their tormentor is sticking around. His obsession with Bernie has already caused her plenty of stress, but things are about to get a whole lot worse.
Kit gets an unpleasant surprise when his boss, Lisa, calls him in after a new development in the case, and she reveals that Mal has remembered who attacked him. Kit is certain that he’s done for and Bernie is terrified her son will lose everything, until Mal serves up a curveball.
“Kit is convinced it’s game over for him, especially when Swain orders him to the station after cryptically explaining that Mal wants to make a statement,” reveals our spy. “However, it’s Dev who ends up under suspicion, not him!
“Bernie reckons they have to come clean as Dev can’t pay the price for Kit’s violent actions. But Kit wants to keep the true story on the down-low as he reckons the evidence against Dev doesn’t stack up.”
