Invincible‘s fourth season has just landed on Prime Video and critics are already raving about the animated series’ latest offering. Episodes one to three are now available to watch on the streaming service, with episode four following next Wednesday (25 March).

The series follows teenager Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who discovers his superhuman abilities and becomes Invincible, a superhero who fights evil. But Mark’s life is further complicated when he realises his superhero father, Nolan/Omni-Man (JK Simmons), may not be as virtuous as he believed.

Season four’s synopsis reads: “While the world recovers from the global catastrophe of last season, a changed Mark struggles with guilt as he fights to protect his home and the people he loves, setting him on a collision course with a powerful new threat that could alter the fate of humanity forever.”

The new season currently holds a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, following in the footsteps of season two and three.

Fandomwire wrote of season four: “Invincible remains one of the very best shows on TV. The action is better, the stakes are the highest they’ve ever been, and the war is underway. Yet it’s the emotion and relationships that make Invincible our favorite animated series.”

Decider added: “Invincible continues to give viewers one of the more nuanced superhero stories we’ve ever seen, and while the show finds itself in a dark place in Season 4, it’s still a compelling show to watch.”

Screenrant shared: “Invincible may represent the culmination of several multi-season arcs, but that would count for nothing if the endings weren’t actually good. Fear not, for season 4 lands each of its blows.”

Invincible is produced by actor Seth Rogen who voices Allen the Alien. Alongside Steven Yeun and J. K. Simmons, the show’s voice cast includes Sandra Oh and Mark Hamill.
