Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has confirmed her future on the soap, after her character Bethany Platt has been seen becoming suspicious of newcomer Jodie Ramsey. Jodie arrived in Wetherfield at the start of the year during the Corriedale crossover and was revealed to be the sister of Shona Platt, but little else is known about her backstory.
But, after reuniting with her sister, Jodie has been quickly making herself comfortable in the Platt’s home, while exhibiting some very strange behaviour.

Last month Jodie stole her sister’s wedding ring, leaving a devastated Shona to believe she had lost the precious item. Jodie then got to play the hero when she miraculously ‘found’ the ring down the Platt’s living room chair, while taking the opportunity to get close to her sister’s husband David.
But not everyone was so quick to hail Jodie as a hero, as Bethany shared to Maria her suspicions over how Jodie managed to find the ring at home when Shona was sure she’d lost it at the salon.
Now, speaking to The Mirror, Fallon confirmed she’ll be sticking around on the cobbles, while also hinting that Bethany could have a big storyline coming up, leaving us wondering if she’ll be drawn further into the mystery Jodie plot.
The actress shared: “You get periods of time where you’re not in — I’m not very busy there at the moment, which has been really nice because I get to spend time with Sonny and Nancy [Fallon’s children], but in a few weeks’ time, I’m going to be busy again.”
Next week viewers will see Jodie display more concerning behaviour when she offers to take care of baby Connie for neighbour Carla Connor.
Jodie was previously caught by Shona pretending to be the mother of her daughter Harper in the hospital, so what could Jodie’s motive be for wanting to help take care of Carla’s niece?

“Carla and Lisa have no idea how twisted Jodie is,” our Corrie spy told us. “Jodie gets creepier by the day, but the most worrying incident is when she pretended to be baby Harper Platt’s mum to another parent at the hospital.
“Jodie clearly got kicks out of that, so could she be offering to mind Connie for the same, mysterious reason that she told that lie? Here’s hoping that Swain’s detective instincts prick up if there is something odd going on…”
