Cross has been renewed for a third season by Prime Video. The police drama, which stars Aldis Hodge as titular detective Alex Cross, climbed the UK streaming chart earlier this year after the release of its second season.
Debuting in November 2024, Cross racked up 40 million viewers globally in is first 20 days, according to Prime Video, and reached number one on the streamer in more than 100 countries.
Based on the series of novels by James Patterson, Cross co-stars Isaiah Mustafa, and Juanita Jennings. The show’s supporting cast includes Scream‘s Matthew Lillard, Jeanine Mason, Wes Chatham and Alona Tal.

The logline for season 3 (via Variety) says it will “continue to expand the high-stakes world of the iconic character, building on the show’s gripping storytelling and powerful performances.”
Speaking about the renewal, Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, said: “From the beginning, Cross has captivated audiences with its layered characters, pulse-pounding suspense, and emotionally grounded storytelling.
“Aldis has delivered a definitive portrayal of Alex Cross, anchoring the series with depth, intelligence, and heart. We’re thrilled to continue this journey with Ben, our collaborators at Paramount Television Studios, and the rest of the incredible cast to bring even more of James Patterson’s iconic world to our global Prime Video audience.”
Cross’ second season holds an impressive 95% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising it for building upon the characters and premise.
