EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s episode (25 March), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
EastEnders has exposed Cindy Beale’s big secret, as the crucial evidence that could free Jasmine Fisher from prison is revealed to everyone. A video on Jasmine’s phone proves that she killed her dad Anthony Trueman in self-defence, even though this week she told Kat Moon that she was set to plead guilty to his murder.
Viewers will remember that earlier this year, Cindy got hold of the phone, after Max originally stole it from the pub. She prepared to destroy the evidence, but was interrupted by a call to Jasmine’s phone from her twin brother Josh.

Josh has since arrived in Walford, meeting his mum Zoe as well as Patrick and the Truemans, plus spending the night with Oscar – who has no idea that Josh is related to his ex Jasmine.
Zoe appealed to Ritchie in today’s episode, desperate for Jasmine not to plead guilty. Kat encouraged her to get ready for Josh arriving for the family lunch with the Slaters and the Truemans at The Vic and offered to visit Jasmine herself.
When Zoe told Max that Jasmine was pleading guilty, explaining that there was little hope without the phone, Max secretly felt bad as he knows exactly what happened to the device.
As Josh and Sandra were introduced to the wider family, Zoe struggled to connect with her son and watched him bond with Patrick. Things got even worse when Kat returned from the prison and said that Jasmine had refused to see her.
Sandra found Zoe crying in the toilets and reassured her about Jasmine, and the pair had an emotional moment as they shared their insecurities about their relationships with Josh.

Later, Josh told Zoe that Jasmine answered his call about a month ago – and Zoe realised that someone else must have been on the other end of the phone and so had the missing device.
As Zoe took this new information to the police, Max overheard this conversation and then went to Cindy, who admitted that she never actually destroyed the phone. Max encouraged her to do the right thing and suggested that she leaves the mobile somewhere for someone else to find.

Facing pressure from Max, Cindy headed to The Vic to put Jasmine’s phone down the side of a chair. But she bumped into Oscar and the phone fell to the floor – and Kat realised that Cindy has had Jasmine’s phone the whole time.
Will Cindy be able to talk her way out of this one?
