Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Tuesday’s episode (14 April), which is available to watch now on streaming service Channel 4 and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

Hollyoaks airs emotional scenes for Jack Osborne tonight, as he is reunited with his estranged daughter Beth Keane. But with multiple lives hanging in the balance after yesterday’s shocking car crash, will the reunion be overshadowed by tragedy?

Last night’s episode saw the Osbornes celebrating at The Loft, before Frankie headed off to her prestigious London dance school. On the way to the train station, Frankie realised she had forgotten her shoes and made Charlie Dean turn the car around.

Meanwhile, another family were making their way to their new home in village, with a van full of their belongings. As Charlie hastily tried to overtake them, the two vehicles collided.

Today’s episode reveals the aftermath of the horrific crash, as Leela Lomax, Tony Hutchinson and Jack arrive on the scene and spot the overturned car. They rush to help but Leela freezes when she sees unconscious teenager Caleb Keane.

“I couldn’t save Peri. I can’t save him,” she explains, sharing her helplessness over her daughter’s death. With some encouragement from Tony, she manages to perform CPR but panics when Caleb says he can’t feel his legs.

Tony cuts Beth out of the van with the help of her husband Jonah, and all three casualties are rushed to hospital. When Jonah explains that a car with racing stripes tried to overtake him, Jack fears Charlie was the driver and frantically tries to get hold of him.

Later, Jack finds a wallet near an ambulance and sees a family photo inside. Recognising the woman as his daughter Beth, he rushes to her bedside.

While Beth is pleased to be reunited with her dad, the fates of three more characters are left ambiguous by the end of the episode. Charlie, Frankie and Vicky Grant still remain on the roadside after the crash, with Vicky collapsing as she tries to get help.

Spoilers for next week confirm that Charlie survives the accident, but he’s sure to face some consequences for his actions behind the wheel.

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
