With Hollyoaks’ Leela Lomax set to find out about her brother Ste Hay’s night of passion with his ex-husband James Nightingale in coming weeks, star Kirsty-Leigh Porter has revealed that her character is set for an epic showdown with James.
Ste cheated on his fiancé Rex Gallagher with his ex-husband James after causing an explosive scene in The Loft nightclub as a response to Rex’s cross-dressing. After being arrested, Ste was bailed out by James and old tensions simmered between them.

During a chat with Inside Soap, Kirsty-Leigh has teased how Leela’s disapproving character will react when she finds out about her brother’s latest poor decision…
“She’s so disappointed in Ste. She can’t stand James for the way he’s broken her brother’s heart, and she’s such a fan of Ste and Rex getting married as she’s been with them both on that journey,” she shared.
“It’s a situation that is so typical of Ste to throw Leela in the middle of. But it was such a funny day for the three of us on set, as Leela is so brutal with James. These scenes are what I Iive for!”
With her on-screen brother juggling two love interests, Kirsty-Leigh teased that she’d like Leela to find romance again, too.

The unlucky-in-love character’s marriage to Joel Dexter broke down after he cheated on her with Cleo McQueen, and since an ill-fated fling with Prince McQueen, Leela has been single.
“Leela needs to meet a rich man who’s going to pay all her bills – get her out of that flat!” jokes Kirsty-Leigh. “I feel sorry for her because she’s there for everyone, but who is really there for her? She needs someone to come along and show her a bit of happiness.”
