Emmerdale spoilers follow from Tuesday’s episode (28 April), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet.
Emmerdale’s Dawn Fletcher drops a baby bombshell tonight – and it comes at just the right time for Joe Tate.
When Dawn interrupts Moira Dingle’s ruthless attempts to take revenge against Joe, she throws everyone into a spin by announcing that she’s pregnant.
Tuesday’s episode sees Moira arrive at Home Farm with a shotgun, fully prepared to kill Joe after learning that he blackmailed Robert Sugden and secretly masterminded her recent prison ordeal.

Moira’s antics are interrupted by Joe’s right-hand man Graham Foster, who tries to reason with her, and it’s not long before Dawn gets in on the act too…
“Whatever he’s done, I’ll make him pay – but don’t make me pay,” begs Dawn. “Don’t make our baby pay. I’m pregnant.”
When Joe seems just as surprised as anybody, Moira bitterly accuses Dawn of lying so they can stall for time. However, Dawn produces a positive pregnancy test to prove her story.
“Two lines,” she confirms. “And it’s just faded because it’s been there a while. Let this kid have a dad.”

Moira ultimately sees sense and agrees to spare Joe’s life for now, although she threatens to one day make his life “a living hell – or a non-living one”.
Joe’s reprieve allows him to look to the future with Dawn, but as she’s becoming increasingly aware of his darker side, is everything as it seems?
At the end of last month, tabloid reports suggested that Olivia Bromley – who plays Dawn – is leaving Emmerdale this year. Show bosses haven’t confirmed the rumours, but if true, there’s sure to be an explosive exit planned.
Natalie J Robb, who plays Moira, also recently teased: “I think Joe’s going to be under [Moira’s] radar, it might just be quietly. He might try to talk her round, but we don’t know how that’s going to pan out with the writing and which route they’re going to go.

“But when I was filming the scenes, it was pretty certain that Moira was going to get Joe back in some way or another.
“And she does team up with people to get Joe to suffer in a similar way. That would be through Joe losing everything, so that he has no power. So we’ll see what happens…”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
