An Exclusive Interview with Er. Nikita Garg, Celebrity Nutritionist, Fitness Coach, and Founder of Entech Wellness
We dive into a conversation with Er. Nikita Garg, Celebrity Nutritionist and Founder of Entech Wellness, discussing how she merges engineering precision with metabolic health to revolutionize sustainable fitness and empower modern entrepreneurs.
From an M.Tech Gold Medal in engineering to fitness entrepreneurship – what triggered this massive career pivot?
Nikita Garg: Honestly, My obsession towards clothes since childhood. But my obesity never allowed me to fit into the clothes I loved. Every penny that I received either as a pocket money or gift or earning went mostly into buying clothes.
I started gaining weight in my puberty and I noticed that every year I am gaining weight. I hated gaining weight. I never accepted my fat body and couldn’t accept the reason or excuse that I was “genetically meant to be fat”.
Deep down, I knew that this is not genetic but there is something wrong with my lifestyle and there is something that we are missing out.
I started doing more physical activities, but somehow it wasn’t working for me in terms of reducing obesity. So this quest or hunt for knowing how to reduce body fat and build a strong aesthetic body has been with me since I was a child.
My Weight Loss journey kept making me more and more curious to know what is a sustainable weight management for whole life.
This Profession came to me instinctively. It just feels natural to me. In our high school times Engineering and Medicine were only two fields that were glorified. Fitness as a career was never an option suggested to us.
I recognised my calling after B.Tech when I did my complete transformation. I refused to accept the life of a typical corporate woman; sitting in an office, fighting obesity, succumbing towards metabolic disorders, and depending on others for solutions.
When I transformed myself, I couldn’t see people struggling with their health, aesthetics and confidence. I did not keep my transformation solutions as a secret and I shared with them openly how I transformed myself.
Since, I wanted to guide people with exact solutions that are backed by Science and a fear of getting obese again and fear of losing my mother if she gets metabolic disorders, it kept driving me into Fitness.
I have represented Haryana many times even as a captain at National Level.
I was selected in Indian Team as well but I dint move ahead due to my 10th board exams.
How did representing Haryana in baseball and softball shape your perspective on elite athletic performance?
Haryana is a culturally Sports Intensive State. Participating in Softball and Baseball requires explosiveness, rapid decision making and specialized motor skills.
What I learned from my personal journey as a sports person:Practice is under-rated. You have to be in regular in practice – no matter what. It inculcates discipline and makes you better each day.
Elite Athletic Performances needs both skill set training as well as Recovery. Recovery is King and under-rated.Under Pressure Performances challenges your mental toughness and exposes nutrition gaps.
How does performance nutrition differ when designing plans for athletes versus your celebrity clients?
Nikita Garg: Performance Nutrition differs in quantity not in “Quality of Nutrients”. Whether you are an athlete or a celebrity client, muscle only knows microtrauma. However, considering the challenging for athlete mentally and the reason to train, execution of Fitness Programs are different.
Athletes eat for performance outcomes but Celebrities primary goal is aesthetics and then physical performance.
However, this mindset has evolved since last decade. For athletes, schedules are designed to keep in mind the primary goal: muscle retention and growth and equal focus on natural ergogenic aids such as Creatine, Citrulline Malate, Beta Alanine etc is given.
With Celebrity Clients, long shoot schedules, travel, sleep and camera ready are kept in mind so that they don’t starve in between shoots and bloat due to food.
However basic science remains same: Retain Lean Body Mass and stabilize blood sugar levels.
Entech focuses heavily on metabolic health. Why is fixing metabolism more important than cutting calories?
Nikita Garg: Entech Wellness is an initiative to prioritize “Facts over Fiction” in Fitness World. As we can see that myths have taken a Front Seat and Science has taken a back Seat which confuses people to the extent – that they give up on their transformation Journey.
Metabolism is a process or a series of chemical reactions happening in our body to ensure survival. Ex. Lipogenesis (Fat Formation), Lipolysis (Fat Breakdown), Muscle Gain, Skin, Hair, Nail formation, breakdown are metabolic processes and we need fuel (calories) to carry out these metabolic processes.
Source of Calories matters the most. Fixing Metabolism simply means fixing the processes. Example: If we have controlled Lipogenesis (Fat Formation – a metabolic process) in Liver and Fat Cells, we will have optimal levels of Fat in the body. Metabolisms are heavily dependent upon hormonal environment.
Optimal Hormonal Environment depends upon the right source of calories rather than just any source. Sometimes even with less caloric intake, people gain fat. It is hormonal. It could be because of stress or the source of your calorie is bad.
If you eat Calories from Right Source, you don’t need to cut Calories. Metabolism gets automatically fixed – if the fuel is appropriate. What is the most dangerous fitness myth you actively fight against in your coaching programs?
Nikita Garg: “Protein causes damages to Kidneys” – the moment I add proteins – people show their mumpsimus behavior. Yes, every protein is not digestible but you don’t have to eat “Every Protein”.
I am scared of people not eating Good Quality Proteins and forcing their kidneys to filter excess sugars since years to lose important body proteins like “Albumin”. Its not the creatine nor the Good Quality Protein, it’s the excess sugar that damages Kidneys. My every single lecture has focussed on having adequate complete proteins.
Having trained over more than 10,000 students, what is the #1 piece of advice you give to future fitness coaches?
Nikita Garg: Your certification is the first step towards learning, and not the last step. If you think you are passionate about this field then only enter because this field is not a football game, it is dealing with the quality of lives of human body.
Don’t sell Ego, sell results that are sustainable. Lead the change by changing your fitness levels first.
How did it feel to be officially recognized by the Governor of Gujarat and Maharashtra for your health contributions?
Nikita Garg: Appreciated and Humbling because biggest validation comes from people. Receiving Award from Governor of Gujarat and Maharashtra has added more strength to my mission.
Scoreboard of people correcting their health is my biggest Award. However, it always feels being valued when we receive such Valuable Awards.
As a Woman Entrepreneur in Fitness, what structural barriers are you trying to break down?
Nikita Garg: Excellence breaks every barrier. Whether you are a male or female, it doesn’t matter.
The only barrier or hesitation I kept facing from all aspects be it funding or finding my own space in this still a male dominating sector is what will happen if I get married or plan a family. Marriage cannot be a lens for investors and the person – if you are really passionate.
As a woman you have to prove harder to show seriousness about goals. But if people really find value in you – it is unstoppable. Success is inevitable.
Strength Training is still a big challenge among females. The myth that they should restrict only to activities like Yoga, Zumba, Pilates has yet not been broken.
Nikita Garg’s science-backed approach proves that true transformation goes beyond aesthetics, offering an impactful blueprint for balancing high-performance lifestyle, corporate wellness, and peak metabolic vitality.
