Hamilton man arrested after allegedly assaulting two people at Nawton service station

Two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries following an assault at a service station in Hamilton.

Police were called at about 10pm to Avalon Drive, Nawton, after people were reported to be fighting on the main road.

Emergency services found two people seriously injured when they
arrived at the scene.

Both victims were taken to hospital in a serious condition, where they are now stable.

Police arrested a 20-year-old man in relation to the assault and charged him with wounding with intent to injure, and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
