Sainsbury’s has made a huge change in its vegetable aisles across its UK stores. Customers shopping at 420 stores can now get their hands on a limited-edition Taste the Difference Salad Selection Box, which features “three salad favourites in one convenient pack”.
The pack includes British-grown Taste the Difference Tomatoes, Pointed Peppers and a Midi Cucumber and can be purchased for just £5. The retailer said the promotion supported UK horticulture and was made possible through 17 years of partnership with growers in Kent.
It also added that it aims to bring more British-grown produce to Sainsbury’s customers.
With this carefully selected box, shoppers can save 24% compared to buying the ingredients separately.
Hannah O’Reilly, director of produce at Sainsbury’s, said: “The British growing season produces some fantastic salad ingredients and we’re delighted to bring together a selection of customer favourites in our new Taste the Difference Salad Selection Box.
“Made possible through our long-term relationships with British growers, it offers a convenient way to enjoy a selection of seasonal salad staples while delivering great value.
“It’s a celebration of the quality and variety of produce grown across the UK this summer.”
The selection box is not available in stores for a limited six-week period.
The supermarket is also offering struggling families help throughout July and August by expanding holiday club spaces, enabling it to bridge the gap between term-time and summer holiday provision and “guaranteeing children a healthy meal during the school holidays, alongside enriching activities and support”.
The partnership with Comic Relief will see £8 million funded to help create additional summer holiday club places for this summer until at least March 2029. The supermarket added that by the end of its new three-year commitment, it will have funded over 500,000 new holiday club places.
