A person has died after becoming trapped in a machine at a meat processing plant in the Auckland suburb of Ōtāhuhu late last night.

Emergency services were called to a report that a person had been seriously injured at the Auckland Meat Processors facility on Portage Rd around 10.30pm, but
they were pronounced dead at the scene.

Fire and Emergency’s northern shift manager last night said rescue crews helped ambulance officers.

Hato Hone St John said crews were still at the plant just after 11pm.
