Emmerdale star Danny Miller has shared a sweet message for co-star Lawrence Robb after his Strictly Come Dancing news. The Mackenzie Boyd actor was confirmed as the 12th celebrity for the new season yesterday, admitting he couldn’t “quite believe” he was taking part.
Danny, who plays Aaron Dingle on the ITV soap, has now released a supportive post for his friend and colleague, sharing a series of sweet pictures of Lawrence with Danny’s daughter and “number one fan” Edith on Instagram.
“Can’t wait for one of my best pals to take to the dance floor @bbcstrictly whilst I’m gutted we won’t have our lodger and ‘manny’ or anyone to do gymnastic drop offs, cook the tea or bedtime books until 2027 we wish you all the best. We will be supporting every week!” he wrote.

Upon the announcement of his participation, Lawrence said: “I don’t know who’s more excited about this, me or my Mother. I can’t quite believe that I am going to be getting my dancing shoes on this September on one of my favourite shows of all time!
“It’s a dream come true, and I can’t wait to bring my all to the ballroom. Wish me luck, and any advice is very welcome – trust me I’ll need it!”
The actor joins the new Strictly season alongside Lacey Turner, Dani Dyer, Delta Goodrem, Chris Appleton, Cach Mercer, Will Best, Sarah Storey, Jaime Winstone, Bethany Antonia, Shaun Wright-Phillips, and Graeme Hall.

Meanwhile, Danny has weighed in on the possibility of doing Strictly himself, claiming on the Live, Laugh, Luke podcast that there are limited options for ITV stars to appear on other shows.
Asked if another commitment would impact his Emmerdale role, he added: “I’m under contract so it’s irrelevant. It’s like a [Manchester] United player playing for Man City. It just wouldn’t ever happen really.”
When pressed on whether he would do Strictly, Danny then teased: “I believe they are talking about the possibilities of that,” though jokingly agreed when Hollyoaks’ Brooke Vincent quipped that he “can’t dance”.
Strictly Come Dancing will return in September to BBC One and iPlayer. Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
