As Lauren prepared to put the vehicle up for sale in today’s episode, Nigel accepted that his driving days were over. But when trying to clean the car, he got confused and accidentally scratched the paintwork on the bonnet.

Nigel had an honest chat with Yolande and while she tried to reassure him, he returned home and told Julie that he couldn’t go to India.

He explained that he could no longer even rely on the familiarity of his routine at home, so wouldn’t be able to cope with an adventure in a different country.

When Julie tried to reason with him and make light of the situation, Nigel snapped and accused her of treating him like a child before storming out.

Nigel had secretly found the spare key to his motor, so he headed to the car lot and got behind the wheel to go for a drive alone.

He soon became overwhelmed and caused a commotion on the road when he found himself temporarily unable to restart the car.

Meanwhile, Julie waited anxiously for Nigel to return home after their argument. After getting advice from Jean, she decided to phone her husband.

But the call distracted Nigel when he was behind the wheel, driving around Walford – and the car sped towards Jasmine and Gina, who were leaving The Albert.

Jasmine heroically pushed Gina out of the road, taking the full force of the hit herself and being knocked to the ground.

With both Jasmine and Gina left lying motionless, will they be okay?
