Coronation Street’s Abi and Carl Webster are set to have a dramatic showdown, as their romance hits the rocks at an upcoming wedding. Carl’s sister Debbie and Ronnie Bailey will tie the knot soon, but it seems like their nuptials could be upstaged by a lovers’ tiff…
Abi and Carl had a sordid affair and betrayed Kevin – Abi’s husband and Carl’s brother. After finally coming clean about her betrayal, Abi and Carl have recently started up a public relationship and seem properly loved up.

But the couple will face challenges in the coming weeks – and viewers know that Carl was previously having another affair with James at the same time, something Abi remains oblivious about.
Debbie discovered the truth when she spotted Carl and James having an intimate chat. However, Carl cruelly told his sister that her dementia was making her confused, and Debbie believed that she had got it wrong.

The drama is set to escalate over the festive season, with Sally Carman-Duttine and Jonathan Howard, who play Abi and Carl, pictured on the set of Debbie and Ronnie’s wedding.
Paparazzi photos obtained by Digital Spy show the two characters having a tense argument outside the wedding venue, with Carl also seen clutching a bottle in a drunken state.
It isn’t known why Abi and Carl are at odds with one another, but with secrets still remaining under wraps, could Abi have found out about her new partner’s second affair?

Another picture, taken later in the day, shows Carl driving off with Debbie, who is still in her wedding dress – with the siblings both looking uneasy.

Many cast members were spotted on set, and there were some particularly amusing snaps of Sue Devaney and Jane Hazlegrove (Debbie and Bernie) speeding through the wilderness in a golf buggy.
Plus, Alan Halsall was pictured using crutches, marking the next stage of his character Tyrone’s spinal injury storyline.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
