National Television Awards day is finally here, which means TV’s biggest stars will be out in their finest tonight and be hoping to bag an award.

The big nominees this year include Netflix‘s Adolescence and Paramount+’s MobLand alongside soaps EastEnders and Coronation Street – but who will come out on top?

While we’ll have to wait until later on to find out, we’ve rounded up five key things that you should look out for during the ceremony, including a few head-to-heads that will be sure to be discussed.

What to Read NextIs this the year that Ant and Dec won’t win best TV presenter?

If one thing is taken as given during the NTAs each year, it’s the fact that Ant and Dec will win the TV Presenter award.

Last year, the I’m a Celebrity and Britain’s Got Talent duo took home the gong for a whopping 23rd year in a row, beating the likes of Alison Hammond, Claudia Winkleman, Stacey Solomon and Bradley Walsh to take the crown.

The pair admitted last year that they “know one year we’re not going to win it”, and while they face similar competition in 2025 – albeit Gary Lineker instead of Walsh – could it be the year Ant’s prediction comes true?

With Winkleman’s Traitors on top of the world right now and Lineker stepping away from Match of the Day – with a win in this category a nice bow to wrap it all up in – they certainly could be getting a run for their money.

Tom Hardy vs Stephen Graham

Two of the UK’s biggest stars are in contention for the Drama Performance category, with Tom Hardy and Stephen Graham both nominated for MobLand and Adolescence, respectively.

The two shows are also up for the New Drama award, so it’s safe to say the competition is strong.

However, many fans will be hoping that both actors turn up to the ceremony, so definitely keep an eye out for them in the crowd.

Could this be a big year for Netflix at the NTAs, and what could this mean for the future?

Speaking of Adolescence, the record-breaking series is the most-nominated non-soap series this year, walking into tonight’s ceremony with three nods – New Drama, and Drama Performance for Graham and breakout star Owen Cooper.

The drama, which debuted on Netflix in March, drew huge acclaim upon its release and has become one of the most-talked-about shows of 2025, particularly in sparking conversations about misogyny among teenage boys and the manosphere.

Last year, a similarly high-impact show – Mr Bates vs the Post Office – took home three awards, so wins for Adolescence could be on the cards.

But could this year be a big year for Netflix at the NTAs? The streamer hasn’t typically taken a huge amount of silverware home in the past, so multiple wins for Adolescence could be a potential breakthrough moment.

The service is also nominated for Heartstopper in the Returning Drama category, so keep your eyes on that category too.

Pete Wicks and Sam Thompson back as red carpet hosts

Fan favourite reality stars and social media personalities Pete Wicks and Sam Thompson are back to cause chaos as the red carpet hosts once again this year.

Who can forget last year’s antics, like Sam running up to Richard Armitage to tell him what a big Hobbit fan he was and singing him a song from the movie series, all while Pete looked on confused, as well as This Morning’s Craig Doyle comparing Sam to a labrador.

What viral moments could we be getting this year? Keep an eye on the NTAs socials on the red carpet to find out.

Who will come out on top for the soaps this year?

One of the biggest battles of the night is the Serial Drama category, as the nation’s top soaps go head-to-head.

Last year, Emmerdale retook the crown, with the ITV series previously enjoying a winning streak between 2017 and 2020 only to be beaten by Coronation Street in 2021 (its last win) and EastEnders in 2023.

The latter BBC show is the most-awarded show in the category’s history, too, and could emerge on top once again, especially as it’s the most-nominated soap this year alongside Corrie.

However, could Emmerdale start a winning streak again? Or will the competition from EastEnders, Corrie, Hollyoaks and Casualty be too much?

The 2025 NTAs will be broadcast live on ITV tonight from 8pm.
