EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s episode (10 December), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
EastEnders has revealed Teddy Mitchell’s fate, as he is sentenced for the murder of Okie Okyere. It has been confirmed that actor Roland Manookian will exit the soap this year, just 18 months after his first appearance as Teddy, and his tragic final story has unfolded on screen.
Viewers know that Teddy has taken the blame for Harry’s accidental crime, and this week Harry was devastated to hear that his dad had pleaded guilty. He threatened to hand himself in to the police before doing a worrying disappearing act.
George and Nicola continued searching for Harry in today’s episode, with Nicola terrified about what could happen if Harry showed up at court for Teddy’s sentencing and confessed to his crime.
Nicola told Gina about Harry’s disappearance, and she offered to help find him – remaining oblivious about his role in Okie’s death.

While the Mitchells headed to court, Gina and George took charge of finding Harry, and eventually tracked him down at Container Junction, in a vulnerable state.
Gina quickly realised that she didn’t know the whole truth, and Harry was forced to admit that Teddy is innocent as it was him who killed Okie. Gina was stunned but understanding, recognising that Harry was still a victim and that he acted to protect Kojo.
While George initially told Harry not to go to court, he was desperate to see his dad and Gina encouraged him to attend the sentencing.

Harry, Gina and George arrived in the court during proceedings and while the judge was giving her final remarks, leaving Nicola anxious.
In devastating scenes, Teddy was told that he was sentenced to life imprisonment and would serve a minimum of 20 years behind bars. His family reeled and Harry attempted to tell the court it was his fault, but Teddy stopped him as he was taken away.
Back in the Square, Barney struggled to accept the news about his dad. Harry was wracked with guilt about what happened, but Gina urged him to try and make Teddy proud.

Harry promised her that he would look after himself going forward and wouldn’t disappear again, but it seemed that he was only saying this to stop her worrying.
That evening, Barney told Nicola that he was moving out of the family home and wanted to live with his biological dad Zack instead.
Meanwhile, Gina headed out to look for Harry and was horrified when she found him lying unresponsive in The Arches, having used drugs again and taken a dangerous overdose.
As Gina frantically tried to rouse him, will Harry survive this latest scare?
EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
