A fitness expert has revealed how anybody can lose 1lb of fat each week through one simple lifestyle change. January typically encourages reflection on the previous year and thoughts about changes for the coming months.

For many people, this means pursuing self-betterment, whether for psychological wellness or bodily health. Some might examine their dietary patterns after the holiday period’s indulgences, while others could look to enhance their spirits through fresh air activities or additional exercise.

For those hoping to drop a few pounds in the new year, Louis Baker-Stroud, who provides fitness, gym and nutrition advice on TikTok, has shared one uncomplicated alteration that can lead to shedding 1lb of fat weekly.

The fitness specialist explained that adding several thousand extra steps to your daily regimen could help shift up to half a stone.

He stated: “Episode one of losing one pound of fat every single week by just making one simple change that even the dimmest village idiot could do.”

“You could lose up to half a stone without having to skip breakfast, count your syns or become a complete carnivore t**s p*t.

“The first thing I want you to do is just add 2,000 more steps to your day than what you’re currently doing. If you’re doing 3,000 at the minute, start doing 5,000 every day. Just don’t miss a day.”

Incorporating an additional 2,000 steps into your daily routine would require between 15 to 30 minutes, which could easily be achieved during a lunch break or by choosing to walk to a local shop rather than driving.

Louis’ suggestion received appreciation in the comments section. One person commented: “Well that’s a good, easy tip so I’m gonna drop you a follow.”

Another promised: “Ill give it a go.”

Nevertheless, not everyone was persuaded by Louis’ recommendation, with a number of commenters pointing out that they were already reaching 10,000 steps daily but still finding it difficult to shed pounds, reports the Express.

One person responded: “Buddy. I’m already past 10 thousand steps daily. I’m not adding an extra mile every day when I’m already over 5 miles every day..”

Another expressed: “I’m already doing like 13000 steps a day. I find losing weight impossible.”

According to the NHS website, a brisk 10-minute daily walk can provide multiple health benefits and is one of the easiest methods to boost physical activity, reduce weight and enhance overall wellbeing.

A brisk walk is roughly three miles per hour, which is quicker than a casual stroll. You’ll recognise you’re walking briskly if you can still talk but are incapable of singing the words to a song.
