Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are still riding high in the Netflix charts with crime thriller The Rip and the film’s success appears to have paid off in a big way for the duo. The actors’ production company, Artists Equity, has just signed a huge deal with the streamer to bring more projects to the platform.
Variety reports that the first-look deal, which is for straight-to-streaming titles only, is a “multi-year production and distribution pact”.
“Under the terms of the partnership, Artists Equity will handle creative and production for its movies,” Variety adds.

The production company already has a theatrical feature film agreement with Sony Pictures, under which they will develop and produce films for cinema release.
Artists Equity produced The Rip, with Damon and Affleck taking on the lead roles. The production company, which was formed in 2022, was also behind The Accountant 2, and Air, the story of Nike’s deal with Michael Jordan.
In a joint statement Damon and Affleck said: “This is an incredible milestone for Artists Equity and one that validates the vision we’ve been working towards since 2022.
“From the jump, we’ve seen this growing need for an independent supplier comfortable across the entire creative process, from development to final cut. Netflix is a great match for our work.”
The actors finished by adding: “We can’t wait to create many more ambitious, globally resonant stories together.”
Artists Equity’s next project Animals, is directed by Affleck and sees him star alongside Kerry Washington, Gillian Anderson and Steven Yeun.

The production company is also working on documentary Turbulence: The Greatest Mind in F1 about race car designer Adrian Newey.
The Rip is streaming now on Netflix.
