Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale’s Tracy Robinson faces mixed emotions next week, as she prepares to leave her family and friends to take a job opportunity that’s too good to pass up.
Although she feels awful about taking her daughter Frankie away from granddad Cain Dingle when he’s battling prostate cancer, Tracy has to think of her own future.

Reflecting on the past year, Tracy reckons she’s spent too long stuck behind the counter at the local shop while failing to make ends meet. It even led to her becoming so desperate that she stole from Eric Pollard.
But now she’s got a chance to make decent money after receiving a job offer from Cara Robinson – the mother of her late husband Nate.
“It’s a really difficult choice, but Tracy has to put her and Frankie first in all of this,” explains our Emmerdale spy.
“It’s been really hard to break the news to Cain that they are going, especially when she knows how much he needs support. But she’s hoping that whatever Cain might feel about them leaving, he won’t let Frankie go without saying goodbye.”
Tracy’s departure comes as actress Amy Walsh takes maternity leave. She recently welcomed her second baby with husband Toby-Alexander Smith, who played Gray Atkins on EastEnders between 2019 and 2022.

The last time Tracy left, she headed to Nottingham to have a fresh start after the breakdown of her marriage to Nate.
When she was there, she found love with a new fella called Ollie and even got engaged to him. However, when she returned to Emmerdale, Tracy found herself drawn back to Nate and ended her engagement to give things a go with the father of her child.
There’s been so much heartbreak and tragedy since their ill-fated reunion that it’s no surprise that Tracy is ready to see what else is out there.
Even so, she’s full of emotions as she bids sister Vanessa goodbye and prepares to go. Will Cain be in time to catch them and say a proper farewell to his beloved granddaughter before they drive away?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
