Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street star Beth Nixon has opened up about her real-life friendships with her castmates, as she remains at the centre of a dark storyline.
Beth’s character Megan Walsh is involved in a huge issue-based plot, as the sports coach has been secretly grooming her teenage student, Will Driscoll.
Megan has understandably become a hate figure on the cobbles since her secrets were exposed earlier this month. Eva Price, who is a stepmum figure to Will, has been leading the calls for her to be brought to justice.

Daniel Osbourne has also ended his relationship with Megan and has pushed for her to be prosecuted, realising that she can’t be trusted.
Speaking exclusively to Inside Soap about life on set, Beth explained: “I love all the Driscoll family. I always go to Cath [Tyldesley, who plays Eva] for advice.
“Rob Mallard [who plays Daniel] is my favourite person on earth. He was so welcoming and we have such a laugh together.
“It’s obviously a really dark subject matter, so to be able to have a laugh while being professional and doing a good performance, it’s hard to find that sometimes.”

Beth also revealed the behind-the-scenes input she’s had into developing Megan’s character in recent months.
If you’ve noticed that Megan seems like a closed book – focusing on her job and Will rather than much else – it turns out that’s a deliberate character choice.
Asked if she’s made any suggestions behind the scenes, Beth replied: “Yeah – she doesn’t really speak about her family. That’s been nice really, because that’s mine – I’m the only one who knows her history. In a way, I put my own spin on that.
“When I first came in, when we were doing costume meetings, I said that I wanted her to be sweet and innocent-looking, but it was a collaborative decision.
“The directors here, they let you have an artistic license over your character.”
