Home and Away spoilers follow for Australian-paced episodes, which some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.

Home and Away has revealed a major crossroads for Darryl ‘Brax’ Braxton as part of the legendary character’s return plot.

Brax, who is wanted by the police, and his partner Ricky Sharpe recently made a surprise comeback to Summer Bay after hiding out for the last ten years.

Since their exit in 2016, Brax and Ricky have been living in Western Australia with their 10-year-old son Casey.

The couple recently harboured fugitive Tane Parata, though Tane has since handed himself in to the police after being arrested for a crime he didn’t commit.

According to TV Week, Australian-paced episodes have seen Brax and Ricky return to Summer Bay in emotional scenes that result in Brax being a free man.

After clearing his name with the police, Brax and Ricky face a difficult decision on whether they want to remain in Summer Bay for good.

Their visit to town makes them realise how much they have missed being home, though Brax is confronted with a very different version of the River Boys, and the gang he once knew are now disrespectful and unruly.

The couple debates what to do next, with Ricky fearing that Brax might fall back into his old ways, having already been in two fights since arriving home.

Weighing up his choices, Brax seeks advice from Alf, and the two friends go on a fishing trip, with Alf telling Brax he is biased towards Summer Bay.

Speaking to TV Week, Brax actor Stephen Peacocke said: “Brax is certainly a different bloke to who he was when he was a River Boy. But you don’t have to scratch too deep to find that stuff is still there. He’s still got fire in his belly if his family is under threat in any way.”

“Talking to Alf makes him realise certain things and it’s fun for the audience to see Brax and Ricky go through that decision-making,” he added.

In UK-pacing, fans are at the point where Tane runs away to Western Australia to escape the charges he faces, with Brax and Ricky helping him.

However, we know that Brax and Ricky are only back on the soap for a stint, so the issues weighing on Brax’s mind in Australian-paced episodes may be what prompts them to leave town again.

Home and Away drops new episodes on weekdays at 6am on 5’s streaming service with a 6.30pm screening on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7Plus.
