“It’s no surprise Sarah is finding it tough in jail,” explains our Corrie insider. “She’s not exactly cut out for incarceration! But clashing with another prisoner is about to make things worse, especially when it forces Sarah into an impossible dilemma that leads to blackmail!”

Visiting day gives Sarah a boost when Todd Grimshaw comes to see her, having just touched down from his break in Thailand. Clearing the air after Theo Silverton’s death, Todd assures Sarah he’s still her friend and vows he’ll always care about her.

Back in her cell, Sarah gets another visit, this time from Kacey, the prisoner she’s befriended. The convict is crushed as she explains to supportive Sarah that her son has been arrested for armed robbery. But it’s more than sympathy Kacey is after, as she has a favour to ask…

“Kacey begs Sarah to have a word with Kit to see if he can help her son,” teases our spy. “Sarah explains she ended their romance to protect Kit’s police career – there’s nothing she can do.

“Refusing to accept this, angry Kacey threatens Sarah, telling her that Kit must make her son’s charges go away, or else!”

Scared of reprisals, Sarah calls Todd and explains what just happened. Todd offers to speak to Kit on her behalf, and when he later bumps into the cop, he urges him to check in with his ex.

Curious Kit then visits Sarah, who tells him about Kacey’s threats. Pointing out he could lose his job if he does what she asks, and reminding Sarah she dumped him to avoid conflicts of interest, Kit refuses to get involved. But when Kacey finds out, she turns violent…

Meanwhile, Harry is giving Kit the runaround with his bad behaviour. Adam has more luck getting through to his former stepson – so when Harry misbehaves at Little Big Shotz and Glenda Shuttleworth struggles to get hold of Kit, it’s Adam who delivers the boy back to Bethany.

When Kit eventually shows up, Adam berates him for neglecting Harry. Kit smarts, and Sarah’s old flames square up to one another as it becomes clear Harry is seriously suffering.

“Sarah speaks to Adam on the phone, who tells her some home truths,” reveals our source. “Adam tells her Kit is failing to put Harry first, and the kid needs stability he can’t provide.

“When it’s suggested Harry move in with Adam for the rest of the school holidays, Kit feels awful for letting the boy down – but soon realises he doesn’t have a leg to stand on!”

Back in the nick, Sarah is shaken after a menacing encounter with Kacey. Annoyed she couldn’t get Kit to co-operate, Kacey warns Sarah if anything bad happens to her son there will be a price to pay… Is Sarah’s life at risk?
