ITV has confirmed when the fourth series of hit thriller Trigger Point will air — and it’s not far away at all. New episodes of the show, in which Vicky McClure plays the leader of a London bomb disposal unit, will be on screen before the month is out.

Season three of the drama dropped in October 2025, but after building anticipation over recent months, the good news for fans is that the follow-up is arriving less than a year later.

What’s more, the show will once again bow on a Sunday night, and the fact it’s a Bank Holiday weekend means fans might be able to catch a lie-in if the adrenaline proves a little too much of a thrill.

Yes, it’s official: according to ITV’s social channels, Trigger Point season four kicks off at 9pm on Sunday, 30 August. Per Radio Times, a boxset release will mean all six episodes will be available on ITVX that night.

ITV’s Director of Drama, Polly Hill, recently said in a statement: “I’m delighted that this thrilling series is returning for a fourth series. I know audiences will be once again on the edge of their seat as Lana and the team take us on another thrilling ride to keep the capital safe.”

McClure added: “I love working with the team, we have a great time making the show and I cannot wait to continue Lana’s journey on Trigger Point.”

An explosive trailer was released earlier this month, and showed McClure’s Lana Washington coming up against an “unprecedented” threat. It’s described by guest star Julie Graham’s character, Commander Nia Quentin, as “the biggest terror attack this country’s seen”.

Trigger Point has been a huge success for ITV, with the first three series said to have reached over 20 million viewers across ITV and ITVX so far.

Starring alongside McClure and Graham are Eric Shango as Danny, Nabil Elouahabi as Hass, Natalie Simpson as DS Helen Morgan and Maanuv Thiara as DCI Batra.

It’s not the only high-octane Vicky McClure-starring thriller that’s got a comeback imminent, either. She’s also recently wrapped work on the new run of the hugely popular Line of Duty.

Seasons 1-3 of Trigger Point are streaming now on ITVX. Season 4 begins on ITV on Sunday, 30 August at 9pm.
