The new David Lloyd Club in Shrewsbury has hosted an official launch event to celebrate its £11 million transformation in the Sundorne area of the town.

The Mayor of Shrewsbury, Cllr Alex Wagner, cut the ribbon at the special event, hosted on 10th April, alongside over a hundred Club members, councillors, local business leaders and community partners.
Guests at the David Lloyd Clubs Shrewsbury event saw an exclusive first look around the state-of-the-art health, fitness and wellness facilities for individuals and families alike. Since undergoing a 12-month complete transformation project, the Club now offers a 100+ station gym, indoor swimming pool with kids splash pool, 25m heated outdoor pool, boutique exercise studios to house the David Lloyd Clubs exclusive Signature Class collection, indoor racquets courts plus two brand new outdoor tennis and three outdoor padel courts.
The Club has also unveiled a luxurious Spa Retreat with Himalayan Salt sauna, rainforest experience shower, crystal steam room, ice cave, plunge pool, hydrotherapy pool and rejuvenating outdoor spa garden with relaxation loungers to rest and recharge.
Located in the Sundorne area of town, the highly anticipated new Club has generated huge interest from the local community.
Speaking at the event, the Mayor of Shrewsbury, Cllr Alex Wagner, said: “It has been a pleasure to open this exciting new David Lloyd Shrewsbury Club following an incredible transformation over the past 12 months, the Club is unrecognisable. This project represents a major investment in our town, and an investment in the health and wellbeing of our Shropshire community too. Congratulations to all involved and we hope to see the facility achieve great success.”

In addition to the health, fitness and wellness facilities, David Lloyd Clubs Shrewsbury also features an extended Clubroom space with new adults-only business lounge where members can work from the Club with the added benefit of being able to squeeze in a gym session or group exercise class between video calls.
Even the youngest David Lloyd Clubs members will be well looked after with a dedicated family lounge with soft play area and creche, plus a dedicated DL Kids space and team to keep them active, entertained and build confidence.
