Film producer Boney Kapoor has lost around 26 kilograms of weight without following any workout or exercise regimen in the gym, according to reports. The 69-year-old has been making waves for his body transformation for over a year now, as pictures of him looking slimmer and fitter have gone viral.

Reports say Boney followed a simple routine that focused on healthy eating and a few lifestyle changes.

What did Boney do to lose weight?

Kapoor’s approach is said to have involved a significant dietary shift in which he gave more importance to eating fresh, healthy, and homemade food. He does not eat dinner and would rather have soups made with seasonal vegetables or chicken.

For breakfast, the film veteran has fresh fruit juice and roti made with jowar – a gluten-free millet which is a healthy alternative to wheat flour. Jowar is packed with protein, iron, calcium, potassium, and fibre and is a great source of energy, regulates blood sugar, and aids in digestion.

Lost weight, motivated by late wife, Sridevi

Speaking about his weight loss journey, in an earlier post on social media, Boney had revealed his motivation was his wife, Sridevi, a fitness enthusiast.

“My wife Sri used to tell me, ‘Boney, first lose weight, then you can fix your hair,’” highlighting the inspiration he got from his late wife.

Boney does not exercise

Despite the fact that experts say weight loss cannot be achieved totally without balancing diet with exercise, Kapoor has managed to shed weight through a firm commitment to just his dietary plan. “I remembered my wife’s advice, who wanted me to lose weight before the hair transplant, so I went on a diet and lost about 14 kgs.”

Boney shatters weight loss myths regarding elderly people

Boney’s transformation has also shattered many other misconceptions about weight loss – especially among the elderly population. Experts say there are no magical ways through which you can melt away excess body fat. To reduce your weight, you need to make small yet achievable changes to your lifestyle.

And if you are over the age of 60, it becomes really difficult to maintain an optimum weight, and that leads to certain myths.
