Snap Fitness Winton launched on the first floor of a former Wilko site on Wimborne Road, bringing a state-of-the-art facility to the community in a bid to support a wide range of health and wellbeing goals.

The gym is the first Snap Fitness location in the UK and Ireland to feature a dedicated Reformer Pilates studio, and hundreds of people queued up on opening day to try it out.

Josh Glover, owner and club manager of Snap Fitness Winton, said: “We’re delighted that our opening day is here.

“Being local to Bournemouth my whole life, it’s been a dream come true to see all of this come together and I’m so proud of everyone that played their part.

“We’ve had some incredible feedback already about how the gym looks and feels, it’s also a real honour to be the first Snap Fitness across the UK to have a Reformer Pilates studio.”

The gym includes cardio machines compatible with fitness wearables, allowing users to stream platforms like Netflix and Disney+ during exercise.

It also features an infrared sauna, which has been linked to relaxation and improved circulation.

Mr Glover said: “We worked hard to ensure the design and the equipment here is a reflection of what the local community wanted.

“We understand that setting foot into a gym can be overwhelming for some people but that won’t be the case here.

“Our goal is to be the most inclusive gym in the area and that people feel completely at ease when they walk through our door.”

The Wilko branch in Winton closed its doors for good in September 2023.

Membership at Snap Fitness Winton offers 24-hour access, instructor-led and virtual group exercise classes, a member smartphone app and reciprocal entry to more than 1,000 Snap Fitness gyms worldwide.
