The T&A recently launched its Best Gym 2026 contest, with readers invited to share their favourite place for a workout.
Nominations were whittled down to 10 – and we are now in the process of profiling each of the finalists.
6Fit Gyms, which is based at Park View Mills in Wibsey, is keen to hold on to its title.
‘Continued investment, improvement and care’
Owner Miles Halstead is proud that his gym has once again been nominated for the award.
He said: “Being named Top 10 finalists for Best Gym in Bradford 2026 is something we’re incredibly proud of — especially after winning both Best Gym in Bradford and Best Gym in the North last year.
“We believe our members have nominated us again because they’ve seen continued investment, continued improvement and continued care.”
Miles added: “We don’t try to be everything to everyone.
“We try to be exceptional at what matters.
“Thank you to our members, our team and everyone who continues to believe in what we’re building.”
87-year-old woman has used gym since it opened
Miles said: “Our membership ranges from 12 to 87 years old.
“One of our proudest moments this year was awarding Member of the Year 2025 to Val, aged 87, who has trained with us for 24 years.
“That single story sums up 6FIT better than any slogan ever could.”

Miles told the T&A what makes his gym so special.
He said: “The original vision started 24 years ago, when Streamline Fitness opened its doors with one simple aim: to give Bradford a proper gym — well equipped, welcoming and built for real people, not just fitness models or athletes.
“Fast forward to today, and that same ethos lives on stronger than ever as 6Fit Gyms.
“Over the last two years, we’ve completely transformed the business — evolving from Streamline Fitness into 6Fit — while staying true to what mattered from day one: space, equipment, atmosphere and great people.
“We are proudly the largest independent gym in Bradford, with more equipment, more space, and more training options than any other independent club in the city.
“In the last year alone, we’ve carried out a major, six-figure (£165,000) refurbishment.”
He added: “We don’t talk about reinvesting — we do it, year after year.
