The transformation of the studio follows a £30,000 investment from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The money has been used to create a high quality environment for community exercise, athlete training and competitive fitness preparation.

The refurbishment includes a full décor refresh, a larger training area, a new four lane sled track and extra equipment.

It is now designed to better support Hyrox athletes, competitive fitness participants and members of all fitness abilities.

Inside the studio there are now 14 state of the art cardio machines.

These include rowers, ski ergs, treadmills and assault bikes.

The layout has also been improved so people can train individually or in groups more comfortably.

The relaunch is the first phase of a wider rollout to showcase the upgraded studio to members and the local community.

People will be invited to try taster sessions, take part in instructor showcases, meet the athlete opportunities and join dedicated Hyrox focused training sessions.

A full programme of classes is being brought back to the studio.

These include Fitbox, female only Fitbox, Hyrox training, low impact circuits, school Fitbox, Boxercise and family Fitbox sessions.

As part of the improvements, members will now have access to a specialist Hyrox training space included in their membership at no extra cost.

The upgraded Fitbox studio aims to be versatile, supporting both everyday fitness and high intensity functional training.

Other benefits include space and equipment for those preparing for fitness competitions, a more comfortable and accessible setting, a wider choice of classes and a motivating environment for everyone, from beginners to experienced competitors.

Cllr Jean Flaherty, deputy leader at Warrington Borough Council and cabinet member for communities, culture and leisure, said: “I’m pleased to see the newly renovated Fitbox studio open its doors, complete with a dedicated Hyrox training space.

“It is a high quality, inclusive facility that will benefit people of all ages and abilities.”
