Morgan Phillips, a fitness consultant at the Celtic Manor, was declared the Welsh Champion in the Men’s Classic Physique Bodybuilding category at the PCA (Physical Culture Association) Welsh Championships 2026.
The competition was held at ICC Wales, Newport, on Sunday, August 30.
The judges praised Phillips for his ‘exceptional stage presentation,’ which highlighted his ‘superb physique’ and ‘fantastic taper.’
They noted his stage presentation featured ‘stunning classic lines and an impressive routine.’
He also received high commendations for his ‘outstanding overall conditioning’ and ‘excellent level of development and muscularity,’ with specific mention of his ‘classical lines’ and ‘glute striation.’
Phillips said: “It was certainly a tight battle within the top three and I feel honoured to have come out on top. It is certainly my biggest win to date.
“However, this federation have the most competitive lineups within UK bodybuilding, making this win even more special and one I’ve dreamt of for a long time.”
He gave credit to his coach, Josh Law, for his continued success in bodybuilding.
Phillips added: “Josh saved my bodybuilding career, almost walking away from the sport in 2022.
“As a friend, he took me on as a client, and we have seen endless success since, and this is all down to his incredible wealth of knowledge of bodybuilding and of me as an athlete and how to get the most out of me personally.”
Phillips’ victory has qualified him for the PCA British Finals in Telford in October, where he will compete for the prestigious PCA Classic Physique British Title.
Outside of competitions, Mr Phillips runs an online coaching business, ‘The Standard – Online Coaching,’ and a stage presentation coaching business, ‘Pure Presence – Stage Presentation,’ helping athletes prepare their stage presentation for competition.
