The gym giant revealed new details today (September 8) of its 31,000-square-foot home in the Harlequin, roughly the size of the TK Maxx unit.
It will be taking over part of the former John Lewis unit, which has already been divided up, with Flip Out and Dunelm among the occupants.

JD Gyms says on social media that the gym will open this winter, although it has not given an exact date. The Harlequin and JD Gyms have been contacted for more information.
The gym will be open 24/7 and have free parking, as well as more than 250 premium fitness machines, extensive fitness classes, specialist strength and functional training zones, and luxury amenities.

JD Gyms chief operating officer Lee Matthews said: “Watford is a hugely important opening for JD Gyms, and we’re incredibly excited to bring our biggest-ever gym to the town.
“At 31,000 square feet, this will not only be the largest JD Gyms we’ve built, but also the largest gym in Watford. We genuinely believe the local community will be blown away by what we’re creating.
“From the sheer volume of premium equipment and specialist training zones to the quality of the décor, finish and overall experience, this will be unlike anything else in the area. Combined with 24/7 access and free parking, we’re setting a new standard for fitness in Watford.”

Harlequin centre director Simon Plumb said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome JD Gyms’ flagship location to Harlequin Watford later this year. This eagerly anticipated addition will create a new landmark for the town and give visitors another fantastic reason to visit the centre.”

The arrival of the JD Gyms is the latest in a trend of gyms opening in Watford town centre.
Anytime Fitness opened in part of the former Pryzm nightclub late last month, while Gym Watford, part of the Gym Location group, opened in Gade House on The Parade at the end of February.
