Garmin’s Forerunner 70 and Forerunner 170 have received their first discounts just months after launching earlier this year in May. The price cuts arrive as part of the company’s Birthday Sale, which sees a range of models get substantial discounts. What makes the Forerunner discounts notable, however, is that both watches are among Garmin’s latest running-focused offerings.
The Forerunner 70 is now the more heavily discounted option, falling to $219.99 from $249.99. Its specifications include a 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen, built-in GPS and up to 13 days of smartwatch battery life. It also supports a substantial set of training features, such as Training Readiness, Training Status, wrist-based running power and running dynamics, making it much more comprehensive than a basic entry-level running watch.
The Forerunner 170 is priced at $269.99, down from $299.99. It adds several features over the 70, including a barometric altimeter, Garmin Pay and additional cycling functionality. For an extra $60, a “Music” variant with onboard music storage is also available. Other models that have received discounts as part of the Birthday Sale include several Fenix 8 and Enduro 3 models, the Venu X1, Venu 3, Venu 4 and Vivoactive 6.
