The Lenzen Pharmacy at the Santa Clara County Public Health Department now is the first South Bay pharmacy to offer the COVID vaccination to babies and toddlers from 6 months old to two years old.
Dr. Akanksha Vaidya, assistant public health officer, encourages people to go through their regular care provider but offers the new service for those unable to access the vaccine elsewhere.
“We’ve been hearing health providers are not able to keep vaccines either due to administrative burden or financial cost, and then those children don’t really have a place to get the vaccine, but it’s still really important that they get them,” Vaidya said.
