The layoffs also affect 50 workers in Santa Monica, bringing total statewide layoffs to 710. The cuts are effective by June 1.
Affected workers are located at 500 Oracle Parkway in Redwood City, part of the company’s former headquarters; 4230 Leonard Stocking Dr. in Santa Clara; and 5815 Owens Dr. in Pleasanton.
Oracle moved its headquarters from Redwood Shores to Austin in 2020 and then Nashville in 2024, but continued to have a major employment base in the Bay Area.
Unemployment rates rose around the Bay Area in January, including in San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties as tech layoffs continued. Tech giants like Meta, Google and Amazon have also cut jobs this year, even as they invest billions in artificial intelligence. Amid a heavy deficit, 127 San Francisco government workers are being laid off as well.
Oracle’s total layoffs aren’t known but are reportedly in the thousands. They also include 491 workers in Seattle. The company had 162,000 global employees as of May 2025. Its stock is down nearly 27% since January.
Last month, the company reported strong earnings, with revenue up 22% to over $17 billion in the fiscal third quarter ending Feb. 28, compared to the prior year.
On Monday, Oracle hired Hilary Maxson as its new chief financial officer from Schneider Electric.
