SAN JOSE – A standoff between officers and a suspect in a family disturbance is underway in downtown San Jose, police said.
Officers were initially called to the 200 block of South Fourth Street around 5:35 p.m. Monday for a report of a family disturbance involving a weapon, the San Jose Police Department said in a social media post.
“The suspect has since barricaded,” police said, adding that “officers are attempting to negotiate a peaceful resolution.”
Police said several surrounding streets are closed and asked people to avoid the area.
