SAN JOSE — Authorities on Friday announced the arrest of a 53-year-old San Jose man they say stole $50,000 worth of electric vehicle charging equipment from a business in the Santa Teresa neighborhood.

The thefts happened March 30 and May 10 in the parking lot of a business in the first block of Great Oaks Boulevard, San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih said in a news release.

Shih said detectives used surveillance footage to identify the suspect vehicle and the suspect.

On May 21, detectives found the suspect in San Jose and arrested him on suspicion of grand theft and felony vandalism, Shih said. He was booked into Santa Clara County jail.
