America in movies

The Santa Clara County Library District is celebrating America’s 250th this month with movies that delve into historical fact and fiction.

The Campbell Library’s community room will be the room where it happens on July 12 for a screening of “Hamilton.” The film version of the hit Broadway musical, featuring the original cast, is rated PG-13.

On July 19 the Campbell Library will host a screening of “National Treasure” in the community room. This PG-rated movie stars Nicholas Cage as Ben Gates, an American historian and code-breaker, on his quest to find the legendary Templar Treasure. He is forced to steal the Declaration of Independence, not only to keep it out of dangerous hands but also to see if it secretly contains the clues he needs to lead him to the treasure.

Both screenings start at 2 p.m.
