Chula Vista police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of two boys at a party on Halloween night.
David Garcia, 18, was taken into custody without incident near his home in National City and has been booked into county jail on murder charges.
The Chula Vista Police Department said that officers initially responded to reports of a shooting on Oct. 31 at 11:17 p.m. on E. Prospect Street. When they arrived, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police took the two to UCSD Medical Center, where they were both pronounced dead.
The victims were identified as Elias Yanez, 17 and Kane Roldan, 15.
Police said that the boys were at a Halloween party when an argument led to the shooting.
“At this time, there are no additional suspects believed to be outstanding,” a statement from CVPD said. “However, the investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional arrests are possible as new information develops.”
