A San Jose police spokesperson said officers responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance around 3:50 p.m. after the remains were found in the area of Santa Teresa Boulevard and Bayliss Drive.

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office also responded to the scene and has since taken over the investigation, according to the police spokesperson.
